Cristiano Ronaldo Announces Retirement Plans Ahead Of 40th Birthday

Cristiano Ronaldo, the iconic Portuguese forward, recently hinted that he might end his illustrious football career at his current club, Al-Nassr, in Saudi Arabia. As he approaches his 40th birthday in February, Ronaldo’s longevity in the sport has surpassed the expectations of many fans. However, the superstar remains uncertain about the exact timeline for his retirement.

In an interview with Portuguese TV channel NOW, Ronaldo expressed contentment with his current situation: “I don’t know if I will retire soon, in two or three years… but probably I will retire here at Al-Nassr. I’m very happy at this club, I feel good in this country too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia and I want to continue.”

Ronaldo’s potential retirement at Al-Nassr marks a significant chapter in his career, as he seemingly ruled out the possibility of joining another club before hanging up his boots. Additionally, the Portuguese legend hinted that his decision to retire from international football will be a private one: “When I leave the national team, I will not tell anyone; it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part.”

Despite his towering presence in the football world, Cristiano Ronaldo has played down the idea of transitioning into a coaching role post-retirement. “At the moment, I’m not thinking about being a coach of the first team or any team. It doesn’t even cross my mind, I’ve never thought about it. I don’t see my future going through that,” he stated.

For now, Ronaldo’s focus remains on contributing to the Portuguese national team as they prepare for their upcoming Nations League games under the guidance of coach Roberto Martinez. As one of the sport’s greatest-ever players, Ronaldo’s future steps will be closely watched by fans and the football community alike.
