Many of us have asked ourselves what WWE will do when it can no longer induct people into its Hall of Fame. Judging by this year’s new concept of inducting matches into the Hall of Fame, I don’t think WWE will have a problem discovering new methods of inducting the same individuals time and again.

Plenty of Stars Still Deserve Induction

There’s also a case to be made that the roster of worthy stars yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame isn’t small. With that being said, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was interviewed by Fox News Digital about some of the individuals that he feels ought to be included in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Cody Rhodes’ WWE Hall of Fame Picks

Cody indicated that he once kept a list of wrestlers who need to be in but aren’t. After mentioning John Cena and Randy Orton as two no-brainers HOF picks upon retirement, Rhodes then argued for his brother Dustin, who famously played the character of Goldust in WWE.

The Case for Goldust’s Induction

“And I’ve oftentimes said my brother. I feel like he had more of [an] important role in the Attitude Era, and moving forward. And I think he’s extremely talented. I think I’d like to see that, not just because I believe he deserves it, which he does, but…The Hall of Fame doesn’t mean the same to everybody, if that makes any sense. To my family, the Hall of Fame is the thing – the title, and then the Hall of Fame. My dad going in was such a huge deal. So, I’d love to see him joined by my brother.”

Unpredictable Induction Criteria By WWE

I don’t bat an eyelash at Cody calling Goldust out with Cena and Orton as no-brainer WWE Hall of Famers, partly because there aren’t any guidelines for being chosen. Anyone can be enshrined, from head of the card main event superstars such as Orton and Cena, to iconic characters and solid workers such as Goldust, to mid-carders who never broke out of that range, as well as celebrities who only appeared in wrestling once. Even The Miz can be enshrined. It all just depends on WWE’s whims in any given year as far as what they think will make for an entertaining show.

At any rate, Dustin is still working today as a member of the AEW roster. I’m guessing he’ll have to wait until he’s not under contract with Tony Khan in order to be eligible to make the WWE Hall of Fame.
