The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared its central contracts for the year 2024–25, with significant returns and first-time inclusions. Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, who were left out last year because of disciplinary reasons, have returned.
Only four players have been named in the elite A+ category — Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja. Despite retiring from T20 Internationals, the trio of Rohit, Kohli, and Jadeja retained their positions in the top bracket, which offers an annual salary of ₹7 crore.
Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan Back on BCCI’s Radar
Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were omitted from the 2023–24 contract list due to disciplinary problems. But Iyer’s good form, particularly in India’s Champions Trophy victory campaign, helped him to find a spot in the Grade B category (₹3 crore). Kishan, coming in good form in the current IPL 2025, came back in the Grade C segment (₹1 crore).
