The trailer of ‘Chhalaang’ has been launched and it showcases Rajkummar Rao and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub’s fight for pride. The film also stars Nushrat Bharucha. The first half of the trailer shows how Montu (Rajkummar), a typical PT Master for whom it’s just a job, falls in love with a fellow teacher at his school – Neelu (Nushrat). However, his life takes a new turn after another PT teacher – Mr Singh (Mohammed Zeeshan) – arrives at the school and becomes the villain of Montu and Neelu’s love story. The other half of the trailer shows that Montu, who loves his job but cannot sacrifice his pride for it, is hell-bent on defeating his senior PT teacher and starts training his students for a tough competition – a competition for pride for that .  Director Hansal Mehta said, “We made this film with the hopes of delivering a beautiful message through a light-hearted comedy. While being extremely relevant to the student and teacher’s life, ‘Chhalaang’ is a complete package filled with emotions of love, comedy, friendship, rivalry and emotional drama making it a perfect Diwali family entertainer. Rajkummar Rao is my muse.”

Rajkummar, who spent his schooling days in Haryana, says that he could relate to Montu’s character. He had seen many teachers like Montu, “Sports play an essential role in building the character of children while having fun. ‘Chhalaang’ took me back to my school days – looking back I realise how the sports I played in school have shaped me as a person. This is a special film and perfect as a Diwali launch. This brings back joyful childhood memories while sending across a powerful message.”

Nushrat will be seen in a different light in this film. The actress, who is brought up in Mumbai, is playing a Haryanvi teacher. She said that Rajkummar helped her with the diction. Nushrat added, “I enjoy exploring unique, exciting roles and my character in ‘Chhalaang’ is something I have never done before. When the film came my way, I was excited to essay this unique character while working with some of the best talents in the industry including Rajkummar Rao, Saurabh Shukla and Satish Kaushik, who are known for their impeccable performances.”
