Spiritual power means having the ability to face all challenges with lightness and strength…
We all have to deal with one thing or another in life, and when we consider all the various types of difficult problems that crop up, sometimes more than one at a time, it can make us lose our enthusiasm and this can weaken us internally. Life can seem a rough and difficult journey. It is then that spirituality, with all its different benefits, can help us immensely.
Spirituality is all about shifting from body consciousness to spiritual or soul consciousness. Spirituality teaches us that the most valuable resource in our possession is the understanding that I, the soul, seated right behind the eyes, in the middle of the forehead, have everything I need for the life experiences I am living through. Recognising and using these valuable inner resources makes our wishes and dreams a reality.
Spirituality is the art and technique of learning how to rule over the self not only at the level of words and actions, but also on the more subtle level of thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It fills us with the power to apply a brake to our negative and unnecessary thoughts when a difficult situation is in front of us. It is not about suppressing our mind and saying ‘from today I will not get angry,’ or ‘I will behave with love and humility with everyone’ and yet going back to our negative self after some time. It is not about just relaxing the mind by reducing the number of thoughts.
Spirituality is about gently transforming our negative emotions into positive ones by creating the right positive thoughts to replace the negative thoughts in our mind, when we are in the middle of difficult situations. With attention and practice, ultimately there will no longer be the need to have to think twice about what to say or do, or struggle to reposition our attitude from negative to positive. However someone may be behaving, no matter what negative qualities they may be expressing, it will be possible to make a connection of value and positivity.
The soul fills itself with spiritual power by connecting with the supreme source of that power – God. Over time, by connecting with the Supreme Soul and developing a powerful and loving relationship by getting to know and understand Him deeply, we become the embodiment of divinity. The sweet silence experienced in meditation gives the experience of love and peace which calms our heart, heals the wounds of the soul, and strengthens the soul.
Acquiring spiritual strength gives us the ability to change our way of thinking and behaving. When we change our thought patterns, we automatically transform our feelings and attitude. A better world requires human beings to be aware of their inner beauty, to use their positive qualities, and to see the good within each soul. When I have the power to fly, to go above all situations, while still fulfilling all responsibilities, then nothing feels burdensome, and I feel no heaviness. From high above, everything down below (even the biggest mountain) seems tiny and insignificant.
