The five-day special session of Parliament is scheduled to start on Monday. On September 19, the parliamentary proceedings will move from the old building to the nearby new cutting-edge structure. Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, announced on Sunday that the session will feature 5 sittings spread out over 5 days and that eight legislative items are likely to be discussed at this time. There will also be a discussion of “Parliamentary journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha – achievements, experiences, memories and learnings.”
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar raised the American flag on Sunday atop the new Parliament building’s “Gaja Dwar.” Om Birla, the speaker of the Lok Sabha, was also present. The Parliament will meet in special session from September 18 to September 22. The government last week released the agenda, which included a discussion of the “Parliamentary journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha – achievements, experiences, memories, and learnings” and bills to be taken up for consideration.
On Sunday morning, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Joshi made a request to all parties for their active support and cooperation in order to ensure the efficient operation of the two Houses of Parliament. Several ministers, including Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who is also the Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Union Minister V Muraleedharan, as well as 51 leaders from 34 parties, attended the gathering of all the floor leaders of political parties in the Parliament.
