Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta stated that both the Central and State Governments are actively working to improve the living standards of the underprivileged. Numerous schemes have been implemented in this direction.
To ensure that every poor individual in Panchkula has a roof over their head, a plan to allocate one marla plot each to eligible beneficiaries in Rajeev Kalani, Indira Colony, and Khadag Mangoli will soon be executed, with survey work already completed.

Addressing a program during the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra Jan Samvad at the Community Centre in Sector 31, Gian Chand Gupta emphasized the commitment to development. Municipal Corporation Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal and Additional Deputy Commissioner Varsha Khangwal also attended the event.

He highlighted that Panchkula faced neglect in terms of development during the previous government’s 10-year tenure. However, under Chief Minister Manohar Lal’s leadership, significant development has occurred in the last nine years, transforming Panchkula from a neglected area to a developed one.

Development projects worth Rs 5000 crore have been undertaken in the Panchkula district, with more in the pipeline. The construction of the Panchkula-Yamunanagar Highway (NH 73), costing Rs 1100 crore, has positively impacted residents’ lives. The establishment of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Sector 23 has given Panchkula a new identity, providing employment opportunities for Haryana domicile students.

During the event, Gupta distributed pension certificates, BPL cards, and Ayushman cards to various beneficiaries. He also recognized the achievements of national medalist Ritika in fencing, national basketball participant Khushi, and state-level basketball player Pranavi. Gupta commended Aasma Foundation for their efforts in producing cloth bags under the Plastic Mukt initiative.

Gupta inspected stalls set up by various departments, instructing officials to prioritize problem-solving for beneficiaries and provide on-the-spot benefits of the schemes to new recipients. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Apoorva Chaudhary and Honorary General Secretary of Child Welfare Council Ranjita Mehta.
