If anyone’s name is being talked about these days in the political corridors of Uttar Pradesh, then it is Omprakash Rajbhar, the national president of the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party. He was with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, then was a minister in the-then BJP government of Uttar Pradesh in the 2017 assembly elections. The Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party was also in the electoral fray among the allies of the Samajwadi Party in the 2022 assembly elections.

After trying their luck on 17 seats, the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, including party chief Omprakash Rajbhar, won 6 seats. However, his dream of making SP chief Akhilesh Yadav the chief minister of UP could not be fulfilled. In his statements during the 2022 assembly elections, Om Prakash Rajbhar was seen lashing out at the BJP several times, calling SP chief Akhilesh Yadav the CM of UP. However, his partnership with the Samajwadi Party could not survive for long.

During the presidential election, the political stir increased again with the departure of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Omprakash Rajbhar from a gathering organised at the residence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow to appeal to vote in favour of NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu. This led to unrest within the Samajwadi Party. On this, the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief said that despite being an ally of the Samajwadi Party, why was Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Omprakash Rajbhar not invited to the meeting convened to garner support for the opposition’s presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha?

In an open letter issued by the Samajwadi Party regarding Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Omprakash Rajbhar, he said there is an alliance with the BJP and he is constantly working to strengthen the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said he was free to go where he was getting more respect, after which the alliance was almost considered to be over. The SBSP chief also indicated his support for the BSP.
