Bruhat Soma Leads Scripps National Spelling Bee Finalists in White House Visit

Bruhat Soma, a 12-year-old Indian American student, clinched victory in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, held in Florida. His triumph, earning him over USD 50,000, was celebrated with a White House visit alongside seven other finalists.

In a rare opportunity, the young spellers were invited to join President Joe Biden’s reception of the Kansas City Chiefs, commemorating their Super Bowl LVIII win. Bruhat Soma adorned in a championship T-shirt and traditional tilak, represented the group at the prestigious event.

His winning word, “Abseil,” sealed his title as the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion. The visit was a testament to their remarkable achievements and provided an unforgettable experience for the young talents.

As they stood on the South Lawns, applauded for their accomplishments, Bruhat and his peers served as inspiring examples of dedication and excellence. Their journey reflects the power of perseverance and education in shaping a brighter future.
