Breach Of Security In US? Prototype Of Secret Underwater Submarine Seen On Google Maps, Removed

In a potential breach of security, a secret submarine weapon named Manta Ray was recently seen on Google Maps.

Ironically, it’s images also got viral on the social media on Tuesday. As per New York Post report, this submarine cum underwater drone was seen at Port Hueneme naval base in California.

Furthermore, the submarine allegedly had slick design, thus it was similar to Manta Ray.

However, after its leak, Manta Ray was removed and, in its place, ordinary boats were installed.

About Manta Ray Weapon

Manta Ray is technically a submarine-which is also an underwater drone. This submarine was manufactured by a company called Northrop Grumman, as a part of US navy project, who wanted needed long-range undersea weapon.

As per NY report, this submarine possesses an ability to anchor itself underwater, even if it is operating in low-power mode.

Further, it also has the ability to sleep on the sea floor for ‘very long periods’, without any replenishment.

Its modular design also possesses the ability of disassembly and can be transferred in ordinary shipping containers. Thus, eliminating the use of port facilities.

So far, US Navy has conducted its trial for three months in southern California. According to defence experts, this submarine weapon was developed to counter Russian and Chinese submarine operations.
