One of the significant figures in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam, Raghav Magunta, has been granted bail by the Delhi High Court. The court accepted his bail on medical grounds but imposed stringent conditions upon him.
Magunta can’t leave Chennai
The single-judge bench of the Delhi High Court stated in its order that Magunta must surrender his passport before the trial court. Additionally, he is directed to appear before the ED office every Tuesday and Friday at 4 pm. The accused, Raghav Magunta, cannot leave Chennai without the permission of the Court.
Raghav Magunta is the owner of the liquor manufacturing factory Enrica Enterprises Pvt Ltd in Chennai. The ED alleges that Raghav, along with various others, conspired and held 32.5 percent stakes in Indo Spirits through his proxy person, Prem Rahul Manduri, which possessed the L1 wholesale license in Delhi. As part of the South group, Raghav was involved in a conspiracy in which approximately Rs 100 crore was paid to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Approver Dinesh Arora
On the other hand, a day before, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court denied bail to Dinesh Arora and sent him to judicial custody. It is worth noting that Dinesh Arora has become an approver, and he filed his bail application on the medical ground of his wife’s health. But the Court regected his application and sent him to jail.
Manish Sisodia
In the same Delhi Excise Policy Scam, the former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia also filed his bail plea before the Supreme Court on July 14. The SC did not grant him immediate relief but later agreed to hear his interim bail plea on July 28. He has been in jail since Feb 26, 2023, and both the ED and CBI are investigating against him.
