In a bizarre incident, six female teachers were detained in the United States over the course of two days, which was alarming. The teachers were nabbed for having sex with students.
Danville resident Ellen Shell, 38, was accused of third-degree rape. According to a criminal complaint submitted in the case, Shell was charged with engaging in “sexual intercourse on three occasions with two 16-year-old boys.” On Thursday, she was charged in Garrard County District Court.
Shell formerly served as a teacher’s assistant at Lancaster Elementary School and Woodlawn Elementary School, according to WTKR.
The news portal revealed that Boyle County School officials informed parents of the arrest of the teachers in a letter.
The 38-year-old teacher was placed on administrative leave.
Heather Hare, a 32-year-old teacher from Arkansas, is accused of first-degree criminal assault and rape. According to the Arkansas Times, she had a sexual relationship with a teenage student.
Oklahoma native Emily Hancock, 26, was also detained on Thursday after local police received information about her alleged connection with a student, as per the New York Post.
A substitute teacher in Lincoln County has been accused of having improper contact with a 15-year-old student, as per KOCO. According to court documentation, the interaction took place within the school building while Emma Delaney Hancock, the substitute teacher, was employed by Wellston Public Schools.
