After a gap of two years, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee shared a common platform in the Bengaluru Opposition meeting. After the 2021 Assembly polls, Mamata had travelled to Delhi but did not meet Mrs Gandhi then. “Why should I meet her when I come to Delhi,” she had said. But the two of them sat together during the Opposition meeting on Tuesday. A dinner meeting was also organised by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Mamata refused to join the dinner on the plea that she is not well. Following this, Sonia Gandhi sent CM Siddaramaiah and deputy CM DK Shivakumar to the hotel where Mamata was staying. Finally, she agreed to join the dinner but did not eat.
