The soldiers of Dogra Scout hoisted the tricolor on the three major peaks— Gangthangala, Manerang Pass, and Ibex Peak— on the 75th anniversary of Independence Day.

A team of different soldiers was formed for each peak, and each team included six officers, six JCOs, 50 jawans.

Manerang peak which stands at 5888 meters, Gangthangala at 5470 meters, and Ibex at 6220 meters are considered as a few of the toughest ascents, which are also strategically very important. Dogra Regiment in Pood was flagged off on Wednesday for the summit of all three peaks.

After a four-day-long trek, the teams reached these three peaks and sang the National Anthem and hoisted the Tricolor on the snow-clad hills. Earlier, a 15-member team of Dogra scouts reached Kullu Pomori peak under a mountaineering expedition.

Under the leadership of Colonel Jai Prakash Kumar, a team conquered Kullu Pomori Peak which is situated at an altitude of 6553 meters in Bara Shingri Glacier at Lahul Spiti.

This expedition was given the green signal from Sumdo on 28 July 2021. The team successfully reached the summit on 10 August. This track is very challenging and full of dangers, and despite all the odds the team of soldiers scaled the all peaks and hoisted the Tricolour.

This expedition was also carried out on the occasion of the anniversary of the Indo-Pak 1971 war. The soldiers paid tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives during the Indo-Pak war.
