On the seventh day of India Couture Week 2024, the event soared to new levels of elegance and glamour, highlighted by actress Sobhita Dhulipala, who graced the runway as the showstopper for designer Rimzim Dadu. The high-profile fashion event took place at the Taj Palace in New Delhi, featuring Dadu’s latest collection, ‘Stucco,’ which harmoniously merged historical opulence with contemporary sophistication.

Dhulipala, renowned for her role in the acclaimed series ‘Made in Heaven,’ captivated the audience in an exquisite ivory outfit that perfectly embodied Dadu’s vision. Her ensemble included an off-shoulder bralette and a floor-length glittery fringe skirt, inspired by the extravagance of an ostrich. Complementing her attire, Dhulipala’s styling featured a sleek wet hair look and dewy makeup, enhancing her role as the centerpiece of the show.

Dadu’s ‘Stucco’ collection paid tribute to Baroque architecture’s grandeur, showcasing her signature use of metallic cords and steel wires. The collection displayed deep, rich colors such as ruby red, antique gold, and burnt orange, reflecting the interplay of light and shadow reminiscent of Baroque art and Dadu’s avant-garde approach.

In an interview with ANI, Dhulipala shared her personal style philosophy, saying, “I don’t know if I have a mantra, but I think it should be me in whatever I wear and should enjoy it.” She described her ostrich-inspired outfit as “modern, feminine, clean, minimal but strong and studied well,” highlighting the collection’s blend of sophistication and accessibility.

Pearl Academy played a crucial role in presenting Dadu’s collection at this prestigious event. The runway featured an array of dramatic designs, including corset tops, contemporary lehengas, sculptural sarees, and tuxedos for men, each piece reflecting meticulous craftsmanship and Baroque-inspired elegance.

Dadu also discussed the evolution of Indian fashion, noting, “Indian fashion is really evolving; we are at a point where we are out there to experiment and are evolving.” Dhulipala expressed her enthusiasm for walking for Dadu, stating, “It was amazing; I wish I could do this every year, every day.”

The India Couture Week, which began on July 24, continues to be a premier platform for fashion innovation. The event will conclude on July 31 with Falguni Shane Peacock’s collection, marking the end of a spectacular week of fashion showcases.
