Smart City Chandigarh takes a pioneering step in civic science education by launching “Swachhata Ki Pustak: Smart Citizens = Happy Citizens.” The Collector’s Edition, a historic initiative in collaboration with Outlook magazine, becomes part of the school curriculum for the first time in the country. Governor Banwari Lal Purohit unveiled the edition at Punjab Raj Bhawan, attended by Member of Parliament Kirron Kher, City Mayor Kuldeep Kumar, Adviser to Administrator Rajeev Ver- ma, and other dignitaries. The initiative aims to promote cleanliness and sanitation education among students, fostering responsible citizenship. MP Kirron Kher emphasized the importance of instilling cleanliness habits and waste management awareness from a young age for building a sustainable city.
