He later predicted that the INDIA bloc would secure around 300 seats. He said people of the country and “India that is Bharat” will win.
Communist Party of India General Secretary Sitaram Yechury cast his vote in the national capital during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections on Saturday. He urged voters to “save the country, the democracy, the Constitution” and to combat “poisonous communal polarization.”
Yechury accused Prime Minister Modi of intensifying communal polarization through his speeches and criticized the Election Commission for not taking action. He confidently predicted that the INDIA bloc would win more than 300 seats.
The CPI-M is part of the INDIA bloc, which includes several parties opposed to the BJP-led NDA. Voting is underway in all seven Lok Sabha constituencies in the national capital, with voters forming queues early in the morning to avoid the afternoon heat.
Polling is taking place in New Delhi, North East Delhi, East Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, North West Delhi, and Chandni Chowk constituencies. Of the 58 Lok Sabha seats being contested in the sixth phase, 14 are in Uttar Pradesh, 10 in Haryana, eight each in West Bengal and Bihar, seven in Delhi, six in Odisha, four in Jharkhand, and one in Jammu and Kashmir.
