Singapore Airlines has announced compensation and refunds for passengers of Flight SQ321, which encountered severe turbulence during its London to Singapore journey last month, resulting in one death and numerous injuries.

In response to the incident on May 21, where passengers were thrown around the cabin due to extreme turbulence, the airline is offering monetary compensation and a full airfare refund to all 211 passengers. Passengers with minor injuries will receive USD 10,000, while those with more serious injuries requiring long-term care will be offered an advance payment of USD 25,000.

The airline is also providing delay compensation as per EU or UK regulations and has covered medical expenses for injured passengers. Additionally, SGD 1,000 was given to each passenger upon departure from Bangkok for immediate expenses.

The compensation process includes specific offers based on individual circumstances and medical assessments. The airline has expressed its commitment to supporting affected passengers and their families, ensuring they receive necessary assistance and information to proceed with their claims.

Among the injuries reported, a British passenger passed away due to a likely heart attack, while others sustained severe brain and spinal cord injuries.
