CHANDIGARH: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Navjot Singh Sidhu famous for his tweets and controversies yet again has to face music as Punjab and Haryana High court Lawyer Parampreet Singh Bajwa filed a Criminal contempt of Court petition against him before Advocate General Haryana. The preliminary hearing is on 16 Nov 2021 by 11 AM.
Criminal contempt petition has been filed against Navjot Singh Sidhu for tarnishing the image of Hon’ble High Court through his tweets and tend to interfere with the administration of justice, said Advocate Parampreet Singh Bajwa.
While having word with The Daily Guardian, Bajwa added, “Moreover, he has organized the press conference upon the report of STF which is under seal cover and creates doubt that How he got the report which is under seal cover and pending in Hon’ble High Court for adjudication and he is trying to obstruct the judicial proceedings and intervening, influencing general public so that the faith of the public may get shaken and the public may not trust/ faith the constitution and the Hon’ble Judges of High Court.”
As he has 10 lakh followers and he just wants to take political gain from his tweets, followers of Sidhu are also using derogatory remarks about judges, added Advocate Bajwa.
Bajwa said, “AG Haryana accepted our application and fixed the date for the preliminary hearing for tomorrow at 11 AM.”
