A recent visit to a salon in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, turned into a nightmare for a customer, highlighting concerns about salon hygiene and safety. The incident, captured on CCTV footage, showed a staff member “massaging a customer’s face at a salon with his spit.” This footage, widely shared on social media, sparked outrage among viewers.

In the video, a customer can be seen receiving services while seated in a chair. Shockingly, the footage reveals an employee spitting on his palm and giving a face massage to the man. The customer’s suspicion led him to review the salon’s CCTV footage, where he discovered the disturbing act. Subsequently, the customer filed a complaint against the employee, identified as Zaid, at the Sushant Golf City police station, using the CCTV footage as evidence. The police acted swiftly, registering a case against the salon worker and taking him into custody.

The video’s dissemination on X (formerly Twitter) included the caption, “What the hell! A salon worker in Lucknow was seen massaging the customer’s face with spit. The incident came to light after the customer grew suspicious and insisted on checking the footage. The salon worker, Zaid, was arrested after a complaint was lodged.”

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, South, Shashank Singh stated, “Customer Pandit Ashish Kumar, an Unnao resident, gave an FIR under relevant sections in this connection on Saturday and after which Zaid, the accused barber was arrested and is now being sent to judicial custody.”

The video, described as “disgusting,” evoked anger and concern among social media users and was widely circulated online. Unfortunately, this incident is not an isolated case. In a previous incident in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh, another salon worker was caught mixing saliva into a customer’s face pack. This incident, too, was exposed when another customer recorded the act, underscoring ongoing issues regarding hygiene standards in certain salons.
