There is an acute shortage of Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers in Haryana which continues to affect the administrative work as well as the functioning of the state government. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal also had raised the issue with the centre regarding a severe shortage of IAS officers in the state by the end of the year. Amid what came to light is that several IAS officers from other states have been Haryana cadre after they were married to ias officers of Haryana cadre.
Renu Sogan, a 2019 batch IAS official of West Bengal cadre was transferred to Haryana recently. She was married to Hitesh Kumar Meena, an IAS of 2019 batch of Haryana cadre. Due to this, inter-cadre (from one state cadre to another state cadre) transfer has been made from West Bengal to Haryana . An order in this regard has been issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) of the Central Government on November 21. Similarly in another case, Dr. Balpreet , an IAS of 2019 batch of Kerala cadre has also been transferred to Haryana. In February 2022, he was inter-cadre transferred from Kerala cadre to Haryana cadre as he tied the knot with a 2017 batch woman IAS Upasana of Haryana cadre.
Earlier in October, 2021, Shantanu Sharma, an IAS OF 2015 batch of Assam-Meghalaya cadre was transferred to Haryana after getting married to C Jayashardha, a woman IAS of 2020 batch of Haryana cadre. Jayshardha is presently holding the charge of SDM of Narayangarh sub-division in Ambala district while Shantanu is posted as DC of Kurukshetra district.
