Sister of PDP Chief and Former JK CM Mehbooba Mufti, Rubaiya Sayeed on Friday identified terrorist turned separatist leader Yasin Malik as one of her kidnapper in TADA Court in Jammu. TADA court in Jammu was hearing the case against Yasin Malik and others in connection with the kidnapping of Rubaiya Sayeed, the daughter of the then Home Minister of India Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and her statement was being recorded.
It is for the first time in past three decades that Rubaiya Sayeed was summoned by court to record her statement. She reached Jammu on Thursday evening and was with her sister Mehbooba Mufti at state guest house in Jammu before she left for TADA court today morning.
During the court proceedings, Rubaiya Sayeed recorded her statement with regards to what unfolded in December 1989 when she was abducted by terrorist and in exchange 5 terrorists were released after negotiations. Rubaiya Sayeed identified Yasin Malik and three others in this case and the next hearing is scheduled on 23rd August when it is likely that Yasin Malik will appear in person.
