A search operation was launched in the Sumb area today following a reported sighting of two suspects by a local woman. The incident occurred at Nanetar village in the Sumb Kandi area, where the suspects allegedly approached the woman at her gate, requesting food and water.
According to reports, the woman became alarmed and retreated into her home. Upon emerging with other household members, the suspects had disappeared, prompting an immediate alert to the police.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Vinay Kumar, Superintendent of Police (SP) Surinder Chaudhary, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Bhisham Dubey, SHO Samba, and other officers swiftly responded to the scene. The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu Kashmir Police was also alerted.
DySP SOG Garu Ram and his team promptly arrived and initiated a thorough search operation. Utilizing drones, the SOG team combed the entire area extensively, continuing their efforts until late evening.
The forested terrain where the suspects were reportedly seen connects with the forests of Sohal and Saida villages, suggesting the possibility that the individuals may have wandered from these areas. The incident has triggered apprehension among residents of Nanetar village and neighboring areas.
