Reddit Rolls Out Its AI-Powered ‘Answers’ Tool in India to Help You Find What Matters, Faster
  • Reddit Answers is now live in India
  • The tool offers AI-powered summaries of community posts
  • It helps users ask questions and get answers based on real conversations from across Reddit

If you’ve ever typed a long-winded question into Reddit and found yourself scrolling through dozens of threads looking for a solid answer, Reddit just made your life a lot easier. The company has officially rolled out Reddit Answers in India — an AI-powered tool that aims to make it easier for people to find information on the platform.

“Using a new AI-powered conversational interface, users can simply ask a question — and Reddit Answers pulls together the most relevant answers across communities and threads on Reddit. The results are then neatly summarised, complete with links to the original post or comments, perfect for either a rich overview or the option to dive deeper into full conversations,” the company said in a press release.

After launching in the US in December 2024, Reddit Answers is now expanding globally, with India being one of its key focus markets. And probably with good reason: Indian users are already highly active across Reddit’s communities, from cricket and job hunting to gadgets, politics, food, and beyond.

This new tool could make Reddit even more valuable — and far more accessible — for Indian users navigating everything from tech comparisons to travel tips and daily dilemmas.

How Reddit Answers works

At its core, Reddit Answers is like having a well-read Redditor at your fingertips. Ask it a question — anything from “What’s the best shopping spot in Delhi?” to “Is the iPhone 15 still worth buying?” — and it scans thousands of Reddit threads, comments, and discussions across over 100,000 active communities to find the most relevant answers.

It then pulls all that into a concise, AI-generated summary that links directly to the source threads. So you’re not just getting a generic AI opinion — you’re getting real thoughts and experiences from real people, all neatly packaged and easily searchable.

The conversational interface makes it feel more like chatting with someone who knows where everything is on Reddit, rather than using a traditional search bar. And for people who find Reddit’s layout a bit overwhelming or hard to navigate, this could be a game-changer.

It also means less doomscrolling through arguments and more focus on solutions, tips, and consensus-driven answers from the communities you trust.

India-specific value and local communities

Reddit says the feature is tailored to tap into regionally relevant subreddits as well. So communities like r/India, r/IndiaCricket, r/delhi, and even niche ones like r/Bangalore or r/mumbai will feed directly into the tool — helping users find hyperlocal insights and Indian-specific answers with ease.

For example, ask about the best broadband provider in Pune, or how to deal with Delhi winters without a geyser, and Reddit Answers will dig through relevant posts from Indian users who’ve lived those experiences.

So the next time you’re debating what phone to buy, where to go on a solo trip, or whether to trust a new online course, Reddit might just have the answer. Literally.
