- Asus promises high-end specs for these laptops
Gamers in India have something to look forward to next week. ASUS had officially confirmed the launch of its latest ROG Strix G16 and G18 (2025) laptops in India a few days back. The laptops are scheduled to launch on May 2. These powerful machines, first unveiled at CES earlier this year, are part of the brand’s flagship ROG (Republic of Gamers) lineup and bring serious upgrades in performance, graphics, and cooling. Before you decide which laptop to pick to fulfil your gaming needs, here is all you need to know about the laptops.
ASUS ROG Strix G16 and G18 Laptops: Top Specs
As the names suggest, the ROG Strix G16 and G18 feature large 16-inch and 18-inch displays, both offering a 2.5K resolution (2560×1600 pixels), 240Hz refresh rate, and 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage. That’s a big step up for gamers and creators alike, delivering smooth visuals and accurate colours across a wider canvas.
Under the hood, ASUS is offering multiple configurations to suit different performance needs. Buyers can choose between Intel’s Core Ultra 9 185H and AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processors, paired with up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM. On the graphics front, these machines are geared for serious play with options going up to Nvidia’s top-end GeForce RTX 5080 GPU. Whether you’re into competitive esports or AAA titles, the hardware is more than capable of handling demanding workloads.
Storage won’t be a concern either, as both models support up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs, promising ultra-fast load times and seamless multitasking. To keep all this high-end hardware cool, ASUS has packed in its updated ROG Intelligent Cooling system, which includes a triple-fan setup and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal for better thermal efficiency.
The laptops also bring plenty of connectivity options. Intel variants come with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, while the AMD versions feature Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Users also get access to multiple high-speed ports, including Thunderbolt 5 (on Intel), USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, HDMI 2.1, a 3.5mm audio jack, and even a 2.5G Ethernet port—ideal for competitive online gaming.
Availability and Price
ASUS says both laptops will be available starting May 2 via ASUS Exclusive Stores, Flipkart, Amazon, and major offline retailers. Pricing details are expected to be revealed closer to the launch.
With this latest refresh, ASUS is clearly doubling down on its gaming-first approach, bringing premium specs and cutting-edge performance to Indian gamers who demand nothing less than the best.
