- Anthropic’s Claude can access your emails and documents in Google Workspace.
- The chatbot can help with summarising meetings, identifying action items and more.
- Anthropic announced the change in a blog post.
Anthropic’s Claude AI has taken a major step towards becoming a full-fledged enterprise assistant with two key updates: integration with Google Workspace and a new autonomous research tool. The updates aim to help users save time and increase productivity by automating search and analysis tasks.
Claude can now go through your emails so you don’t have to
Claude can now access emails, calendars, and documents in Google Workspace for users subscribed to the Max, Team, Enterprise, or Pro plans. Once integration is enabled by an administrator, the chatbot can quickly summarise meetings, identify action items, and provide relevant context—all with inline citations for verification.
The company said in its blog post, “By connecting Google Workspace, Claude can securely search emails, review documents, and see your calendar commitments – eliminating the need to manually upload files or repeatedly provide context about your work and schedule.”
The new research feature
In parallel, Anthropic has also launched a Research feature that allows Claude to conduct multi-step web searches and compile accurate, well-sourced responses in under a minute. The feature is currently rolling out in the US, Japan, and Brazil, with wider availability planned soon.
“Research delivers high-quality, comprehensive answers in minutes, making it practical for the multiple research tasks you tackle throughout your workday. It’s this balance of speed and quality that sets it apart,” the company says.
What about privacy?
Anthropic also noted in its blog post that Claude does not train on user data and uses strict authentication to ensure privacy. Enterprise users also get enhanced controls and support.
“With enterprise-grade security that keeps your data within your control, Claude maintains the confidentiality of your organization’s knowledge while delivering precise answers,” the blog post read.
