The Supreme Court on Friday quashed a Hoshiarpur Court order summoning Sukhbir Singh Badal, Parkash Singh Badal, and others in the alleged case of forgery and cheating filed against them in the controversy over Shiromani Akali Dal’s dual constitution.
“We quash and set the impugned order including trial court summons,” the top court said.
The court granted the appeal filed by Sukhbir Singh Badal, Parkash Singh Badal, and Daljit Singh Cheema, which challenged the proceedings pending before Punjab’s Hoshiarpur Court in the alleged case of forgery and cheating filed against them in the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) dual constitution controversy.
After hearing the submissions of all parties involved in the case, a bench led by Justice MR Shah previously reserved its decision.
Prakash Singh Badal, Sukhbir Singh Badal, and Daljeet Singh Cheema filed a petition in the Supreme Court in response to a complaint filed by Hoshiarpur resident Balwant Singh Khera.
