Saudi Arabia saw a 73% rise in international tourist arrivals, with tourism revenues increasing by 207%, as reported by the UN World Tourism Barometer. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Kingdom led G20 countries in the growth of international tourist numbers and tourism revenue during the first seven months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2019.

This year, Saudi Arabia’s tourist destinations experienced a substantial increase in international visitors, with 17.5 million arrivals. In 2023, the country recorded a 56% growth in international tourists compared to 2019, reaching 27.4 million, placing it at the top of the UN Tourism Data Dashboard for growth among major tourist destinations.

Furthermore, Saudi Arabia’s travel account in the balance of payments achieved a record surplus of 48 billion riyals in 2023, reflecting an annual increase of 38%.
