The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided 14 locations in Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday as part of its ongoing investigations into the attacks on the Consulate General of India in San Francisco, USA. The districts of Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar in Haryana, as well as Moga, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, Mohali, and Patiala in Punjab, were among those that the NIA raided. As a result of the crackdown, other incriminating documents and digital data pertaining to the accused individuals were seized.

The move was a bid to unravel the complete conspiracy behind the March 19, 2023 and July 2, 2023 attacks involving criminal trespass, vandalism, damage to public property and attempts to cause hurt to the officials of Indian Consulate in San Francisco and set the Consulate building on fire through acts of arson.
The NIA has been probing the case with the aim of identifying and prosecuting the attackers and the assailants of the attacks and sending a strong message to such anti-Indian elements.

In August 2023, a team from the National Institute of Aging (NIA) traveled to San Francisco to look into reports of violent arson and vandalism attacks on the Consulate, which had left the community and staff terrified. The NIA stated that it is using crowdsourced data to identify and gather details about US-based organizations and people connected to these violent incidents as part of its investigations. The agency has already identified a few people who were involved in the repeated attacks conspiracy.
