Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has come forward to defend his son, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, amid ongoing threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with the blackbuck poaching case. In a candid interview with ABP News, Salim Khan cleared the air about Salman’s involvement in the incident and reiterated his son’s love for animals.
Salman Wasn’t Present During the Incident
In the interview, Salim Khan revealed that he questioned Salman when the news of the blackbuck hunting first surfaced. According to him, Salman was not present at the location when the incident occurred. “I had asked Salman who did it, and he said he wasn’t even at the spot. He said that when the incident happened, he wasn’t in the car. And he never lies to me,” said Salim.
“Salman Loves Animals”
Defending his son’s character, Salim Khan emphasized that Salman has always had a deep affection for animals and would never harm them. “Usko nahi hai yeh sab shauk jaanwaron ko maarne ka. Jaanwaron se mohabbat karta hai vo (He has no interest in killing animals. He loves them),” Salim explained. He further added that Salman “doesn’t even kill a cockroach,” illustrating the actor’s compassionate nature.
No Apologies Needed
Salim Khan also addressed the threats his son has been receiving from the Bishnoi gang, who demand an apology. However, Salim was firm in his stance that Salman has no reason to apologize. “Kyun maange maafi? Has he done anything wrong? Have you investigated it? Everyday there are so many hunting incidents over there. In fact, we have never even used a gun. So what is the apology for? Saying sorry means accepting that we have done something wrong,” Salim stated.
