Few days ago, Amritsar Rural Police lodged an FIR against a 10-year-old child and his father for uploading a picture on Social media, after which people criticized Punjab police. Punjab Police took a back step and regretted filing an FIR against a child. After this Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav released an ultimatum on his official twitter handle for Punjab Public to remove all gun promotion related posts from social media within 72 hours which got over on Tuesday. In this line, AAP MLA Anmol Gagan Maan’s gun holding pictures are creating stir in social media while asking Punjab Police if they file an FIR on their own MLA for not deleting the gun holding content
from the internet.
This question also has heated up the Punjab Politics as Punjab Police did not take any action so far on those Punjabi singers/companies whose gun promoting songs that are still present on youtube and other social
media platforms.
Former minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Tuesday said there could not be a different law for a minister and the common man, while demanding registration of an FIR against cabinet minister Anmol Gagan Mann for promoting gun culture.
In a statement here, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader said even though Punjab Police chief Gaurav Yadav had given a 72 hour deadline to remove all pictures promoting gun culture from social media accounts, Anmol Gagan Mann had failed to heed this warning and she should be proceeded against immediately.
