Ryan Wesley Routh, who was arrested for attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump at a Florida golf course, detailed his deadly intentions in a letter. The disturbing letter, addressed to “The World,” laid bare his plans and motives.

The Chilling Letter: Routh’s Confession

According to court documents, Routh left a box at a witness’s house containing ammunition, a metal pipe, and multiple letters, one of which confirmed his intent to kill Trump. In the letter, Routh wrote:
“This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, but I failed you. I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster.”

Routh even offered a bounty of $150,000 to anyone who could “finish the job.” His grievance stemmed from Trump’s policies, particularly ending relations with Iran, which he blamed for escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Routh’s Arrest: Secret Service Action

Routh was taken into custody on September 15 after a Secret Service agent spotted a rifle protruding from the tree line, near where Trump was playing golf in West Palm Beach. After exchanging gunfire with the agent, Routh fled the scene in his vehicle but was soon arrested on firearm charges.

The Investigation: Ammunition, Phones, and Tools Found

The witness who received the box from Routh opened it after learning of his arrest, discovering ammunition, building materials, tools, phones, and the troubling letter detailing his assassination attempt.

Next Steps: Detention Hearing

Routh is currently awaiting a detention hearing. The case has raised concerns over the security of high-profile individuals and the motives behind such violent actions.
