Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman represented the central budget for the year 2022-23 claiming it would be a big boost for the national economy along with overall development of all sections of the society. Haryana, which was having huge expectations from the budget, failed to get any kind of big projects. From Haryana’s point of view, experts, farmers along with the leaders of ruling faction and opposition were having different views pertaining to the budget. The ruling faction in the state is of the opinion that the budget has been represented with vision and development plan of forthcoming 100 years, however, on contrary to this, the opposition outrightly opined that the budget neither has any vision nor development plan, rather it is a bundle of false claims of development of all sections of the country.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that instead of one year’s budget, many things have been implemented in it to fix specific direction for the next 100 years. Emphasis has been laid on the digitalization, education, health, infrastructur and employment. Farmers have been taken been care of in this budget.

Regarding the budget, OP Dhankhar , the BJP praised it saying that it is having a focus on infrastructure development, youth and employment which is most likely to benefit all sections of the society. Apart from this, nearly 25000 kilometre of roads will be constructed across the country. In a bid to provide accommodation facilities to all, the government has given nod to the proposal of constructing 80 lakh homes. While reacting to the budget, Kumari Selena, the state Congress party president took a dig at the BJP-led Central Government saying that it was a clear portrayal of failure of its policies as the government left no stone unturned to neglect the needs of youth, farmers and other sections of the country.

While reacting to the budget, the farmer leaders took on the BJP government that it is entirely the agrarian community and the tall claims of the betterment of the farmers proved futile. Despite facing the anger of the farmers against the withdrawn contentious agriculture laws, the government failed to understand the nature of the farmers’ problems which is matter of serious concern. they further said that even the subsidy on the fertilizer also has been decreased from 1.05 lakh crore to 1.40 lakh crore that constitutes a difference of 25 percent of the previous budget.

In continuation to this, an expert from MDU Rohtak, Santosh Nandal said that the fatal pandemic had forced us to go through critical time and the the present budget is relieving to some extent as it is likely to benefit all sections of the society. Apart from this, it is unfortunate that no relaxation has been given in tax which is a set back to the expectations of working sections, particularly middle class.

While Bhupender Singh Hooda, the Congress stalwart and the leader of opposition also took on the budget stating that it has been proved a setback for all sections as it lacks opportunities for employment, youth and the agrarian community.
