The Road Transport Corporation (RTC) of Andhra Pradesh has resumed its services in the state, advising the passengers to take care of themselves from coronavirus.

The statewide operations started with “Whatever possible social distancing among passengers” warning.

The RTC authorities pointed out that it is going to follow norms in Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The government permitted RTC buses to operate as per their designated capacity at the time of their registration with the state transport department.

The commuters are advised to wear masks and sanitize their hands to cut down the risk of Covid-19.

The APSRTC has started its operations around 4,600 services in this manner covering nearly 42 lakh km distance. APSRTC removed the physical distancing norms as per the state government guidelines. The corporation also started city bus services last week in metro cities like Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

After 6 months of suspension of services in Hyderabad, the RTC resumed services on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The buses were seen on the roads in The Greater Hyderabad Corporation (GHMC) limits.

The city core services can be resumed after a week. The TSRTC is ready to resume 100% services in the city but waiting for the nod of the government. TSRTC operates over 3,000 buses on 1,400 routes in Hyderabad, including the outskirts.

Before Covid-19, these buses used to make 43,000 trips, transporting over 30 lakh passengers every day. The RTC authorities have been silent on the Covid-19 guidelines being implemented in the buses.
