The Union Health Ministry has made RT-PCR tests mandatory for all international passengers traveling from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand to India. After undergoing RT-PCR tests they have to upload a report on the Air Suvidha portal from 1 January 2023. Meanwhile, within 72 hours the test should have been conducted. Amid increasing COVID-19 cases this step has been taken by the Union Health Ministry. However, the Union Health Ministry has warned that India may see a surge in Covid cases in mid-January and the next 40 days will be crucial.
