Robert Pattinson has exciting news for fans as he teams up with ‘Smile’ director Parker Finn for a remake of ‘Possession’, a 1981 psychological supernatural horror film by Andrzej Zulawski. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Finn will write and direct the film, also producing under his Bad Feelings banner, while Pattinson will produce through his production house, Icki Eneo Arlo.
Details about Pattinson’s role will be revealed as the screenplay develops and production schedules are finalized. ‘Possession’, originally set in West Berlin, stars Sam Neill as a spy returning home to find his marriage to Isabella Adjani’s character in turmoil, leading to a tumultuous sequence involving adultery, neglect, murder, an alien, and doppelgangers.
Finn, known for his horror hit ‘Smile’ in 2022, which grossed over $216 million worldwide, transitioned from shorts to feature films with this success. He subsequently inked a deal with Paramount and began work on ‘Smile 2’, following the concept of a supernatural entity causing individuals to commit suicide.
Pattinson, whose last big-screen appearance was in 2022’s ‘The Batman’, is set to return in January 2025 with Bong Joon Ho’s ‘Mickey 17’, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
