Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday said that the government has formulated various welfare policies to make life easier for the people of the state. He said that the government is determined to eradicate corruption. “People are getting direct benefits from the schemes in our government. Now the assistance amount goes directly to the beneficiary’s account whereas earlier the amount used to disappear on the way to reach the beneficiary,” he added.
The Chief Minister was addressing a Jan Samvad gathering organised in the Karnal district. CM Khattar took cognizance of several grievances and suggestions made by locals.
To a school-related demand, CM Khattar announced that work would soon begin to open a primary school in Karnal’s Kodi colony. In another instance, the Chief Minister said that every grievance related to property ID would be resolved and that special two-day camps were being organised to take up the issue. Khattar told media persons that most colonies in Karnal had been developed on Shamlat land and added that this problem would be resolved at the earliest. “I will soon convene a meeting of concerned officers to resolve this problem and give ownership rights to the residents of Karnal,” he asserted. Officials received 1,988 complaints, of which 50 percent of complaints were resolved during the programme. The remaining complaints would be resolved within five days, the CM promised.
As for welfare schemes, CM Khattar said that the state government is giving the benefit of health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh to families with an annual income of Rs 1.80 lakh. “The government is also considering to include the families in this scheme whose annual income is between Rs 1.80 lakh and Rs 3 lakh; by taking some premium amount to give them a benefit of up to Rs 5 lakh,” he added. Following the implementation of Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), he said, 12.5 lakh new BPL ration cards had been issued in the state.
Addressing the gathering, Khattar said all complaints would be sent to the concerned departments online. “People of the state are getting benefits due to the implementation of the Right to Service Act,” the CM said, adding that all unresolved complaints would be sent to auto appeal and action would be taken against negligent officers in case of unresponsiveness within a stipulated time period. Khattar also announced rewards for all Padma awardees from the state and announced that they would receive monthly pensions of Rs 10,000 and free travel facilities in the state’s Volvo buses.
