Resident doctors of the NDMC Medical College and Hindu Rao Hospital went on an indefinite hunger strike to protest the delay in payment of their salaries. Before starting the strike, the doctors had also written a letter to the Medical Superintendent about their demands. “We have tried to knock on every door possible regarding the unresolved matter of salaries over years. We have written representation to the honourable LG, Commissioner and our Administration multiple times, but we haven’t received any permanent solution,” said a doctor. The doctors have informed the Medical Superintendent of the hospital and declared that, in case of any mishaps, they will not be responsible. Previously, the doctors of Hindu Rao Hospital had staged protests at Jantar Mantar and in front of the hospital office over the nonpayment of salaries.
