The Haryana government has termed some of the media reports regarding Faridabad District Administration taking over the control of Linde plant in Faridabad thereby causing disruption of oxygen supply in some Delhi hospitals malicious, false and baseless. The reports being spread on social media and other media platforms are fabricated and hold no merit.

“The Haryana government is fully committed that the resources are optimally utilised in the interest of the nation and patient in general and is leaving no stone unturned to ensure interrupted supply of oxygen across the state and the country,” the state government said in a statement.

The government said that the district administration has got the required fact-checked from the Linde plant and it has been highlighted that the reason for disruption in supply is that some of their liquid medical oxygen carriers that are bringing 31 MT oxygen have been held up in Meerut due some reason.

However, the district administration and the state government have held detailed discussions with the local administration and their officials ensuring the early arrival of the oxygen supply to Linde plant and further assuring the required oxygen supply in the hospitals connected to this plant is restored immediately.

It is pertinent to mention that at present entire north India is facing an acute shortage of oxygen supply because of increased demand in hospitals. Therefore the allocation of liquid medical oxygen produced in various plants in north India is decided by the Government of India only.

As far as Haryana is concerned, the state is producing 260 to 270 MT medical oxygen in the Panipat plant per day and out of which 120 MT oxygen is allocated to Punjab and is 140 MT allocated to Delhi, while the daily requirement of Haryana is only 80 MT per day which is barely enough to meet the current oxygen demand as there is a spurt in Covid-19 cases. This demand is likely to shoot up to 100 to 150 MT of oxygen in the days to come. Haryana government has deputed officials in the plants so that the orders of the Government of India regarding oxygen supply are complied with and there is no mismanagement.
