Sandalwood star Darshan and three of his companions apprehended for murder accusations, were placed in judicial custody and transferred to Parappana Agrahara’s Central Prison.

Pavithra Gowda, along with his girlfriend and 12 others, is currently in police custody. The city police have apprehended a total of 17 individuals for the alleged murder of Darshan’s fan, Renukaswamy, aged 33 from Chitradurga. This action was taken after the victim reportedly sent offensive messages and images to Pavithra.

Darshan is entering judicial custody at Central Prison for the second time. In September 2011, he was detained for assaulting his wife Vijayalakshmi and his three-year-old son, and for threatening Vijayalakshmi with his licensed revolver.

He spent approximately a month as an undertrial prisoner before being granted bail by the high court. Subsequently, Vijayalakshmi withdrew the case, leading to its closure. The couple later held a press conference where they stated that they had settled.

Judge Vijaykumar Jatla on Saturday ordered Darshan, Dhanaraj (also known as Raju), Vinay V, and Pradosh to be held in judicial custody until July 4. Earlier on Thursday, the court had also remanded the remaining 10 accused, including Pavithra, to judicial custody. Before that, three other youths had also been detained.

‘D Boss’ Fans

When Darshan’s police minibus left the court and merged onto Nrupatunga Road, hundreds of fans clamored for a glimpse of their beloved ‘D Boss.’ Cheers erupted as Darshan waved from inside the bus, but he was restrained by police when he attempted to approach the window for a closer interaction with the crowd.

Stringent police security was set up at the prison entrance, including four platoons of Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) and 50 officers led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) CK Baba. They dispersed the curious crowd gathering near Jail Circle upon hearing of Darshan’s arrival.
