KOLKATA: Souhardya De, art and culture columnist for The Sunday Guardian, podcaster, and a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of London, has recently been bestowed with the highest civilian honour of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, United States. “Dear Colonel De,

Congratulations on your commission! You are part of an exclusive group of individuals who are recognised for their contributions to their community and give to those in need” said Colonel Heather Campbell, Director of Colonel Relations at the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels after Souhardya was bestowed with this Order.

The Colonelcy of the Commonwealth of Kentucky is a State Order of Merit and the highest civilian honour bestowed to individuals who have, in ways that benefit citizens, served the society. It makes them Goodwill ambassadors of Kentucky’s culture and heritage internationally. Souhardya aims at revitalising and popularising the Indian heritage and culture through the means of literature and travelogues.
