After Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured a victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match, RCB captain Faf Du Plessis praised Virat Kohli for his performance, emphasizing the importance of his innings on the challenging pitch. Du Plessis highlighted Kohli’s enduring passion for cricket and his vital contribution to the team’s success.
In the match, Kohli, known as the ‘Chasemaster,’ played a pivotal role, supported by Mahipal Lomror and Dinesh Karthik, who provided crucial finishes to secure RCB’s four-wicket win at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Du Plessis expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, particularly acknowledging Karthik’s contribution to the victory.
Despite PBKS’s decent batting performances from Shikhar Dhawan, Jitesh Sharma, and Sam Curran, they could only manage to score 176/6, with Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell taking two wickets each for RCB. In their chase, RCB faced wicket losses but were steadied by Kohli’s innings of 77 runs.
Dinesh Karthik and Mahipal Lomror’s impressive finishes ensured RCB’s victory with four wickets in hand and four balls remaining. Harpreet Brar and Kagiso Rabada stood out as PBKS’s top bowlers. Kohli was rightfully awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ title for his outstanding performance.
