A meeting of the Youth Congress was held at the Pradesh Congress headquarters on Friday regarding the role of the Youth Congress in the upcoming elections. During the meeting, Rajasthan Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa criticized families who are seeking tickets for their sons and daughters.
While speaking among Youth Congress workers, Randhawa questioned how it would work if fathers became ministers, and sons and daughters became chairpersons. He said, “Among the applications I receive for tickets, there are fathers who are ministers and sons and daughters who are chairpersons. What about other family members? How will this work? Where will other party workers go?”
Rajasthan Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that unless senior leaders step back from their families, how can Congress workers work for the party?
Citing his own example, Randhawa said that when his father was active in politics, he did not promote him. However, when Randhawa was given a ticket, his father took a sabbatical from active politics. He said that Congress senior leaders need to adopt the same mindset.
PCC in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa assured Youth Congress workers and leaders that they will also get priority in the elections. He said that although applications from family members of politicians come to him, the tickets will be distributed in the same way as before, ensuring that Youth Congress and future party members are accommodated. He emphasized that whoever deserves it will be given a ticket.
According to the reports, the leaders who are seeking tickets for their sons and daughters are Minister Shanti Dhariwal, Minister Govind Meghwal, MLA Gurmeet Singh Kunner, MLA Ameen Khan, MLA Babu Lal Bairwa, MLA Mahadev Singh Khandela, MLA Raghuraj Sharma, MLA Johri Lal Meena.
