A slew of celebrities has contracted the novel coronavirus since its outbreak. Ranbir Kapoor has tested positive for Covid-9. On Tuesday, Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor confirmed the same by sharing a picture of him and thanked fans for the wishes. “Thank you for your concern and good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions,” she wrote. Alia Bhatt later took to her Instagram story and posted a quote: “We grow through what we go through.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has also tested Covid positive. Currently, the director is in self-quarantine. According to the report, after the director tested positive, he took his elderly mother to get tested too. “She has tested negative for the novel coronavirus and is doing fine but she has also quarantined herself as a precautionary measure,” revealed the source. Alia has also put herself into quarantine. She was shooting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for her upcoming movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. As per the reports Bhansali tested positive on the sets of his upcoming film, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. The shooting has reportedly been suspended till further notice. Meanwhile, the entire cast and crew are also being tested for Covid at the moment and have been asked to quarantine. Vijay Raaz and Seema Pahwa are in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi will be seen in the cameo roles and Meezan Jaffery, Sharmin Segal are also a part of the film as assistant directors.
Earlier, Ranbir’s mother Neetu had recovered from Covid-19. She tested positive while shooting for ‘Jug Jug Jeeyo’ in Chandigarh. “Earlier this week, I tested positive for Covid-19. All safety measures are being followed and I am thankful to the authorities for all their help and quick response. I am in self-quarantine, taking medication on my doctor’s advice and feeling better,” she had said in a statement.
Ranbir is currently working on multiple projects. He has ‘Brahmastra’ with Alia, an untitled movie with Luv Ranjan co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, ‘Animal’ with Sandeep Reddy Vanga co-starring Parineeti Chopra. Recently, Alia took to Instagram to share a glimpse through a picture that showed her, Ranbir and Ayan Mukerji all posing for the camera with the film’s script in their hands from the sets of ‘Brahmastra’.
