All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has taken a strong objection to the interview of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. He said that Rajnath’s comments on love jihad are unconstitutional. He questioned the Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre as to why reporters and news media personnel are not allowed to visit Ladakh and Depsang Valley.

“Why doesn’t the Modi government take media to Ladakh and Depsang Valley like senior media persons covered the Kargil War?” Owaisi questioned. He questioned the government why it has been silent when vandalism takes place on mosques in Madhya Pradesh. He said ‘This is uncle and aunty Sarkar. It’s telling what to eat and what not to eat. Rajnath’s comments are against fundamental rights. China has occupied our land, what is this government doing? We are not properly equipped with weapons and ammunition. Rajnath Singh did not speak on it. The love jihad laws are against the very spirit of Indianness.”

Owaisi questioned what this government is doing when 39 Indian sailors have been caught by the Chinese government, the Prime Minister has not even tweeted on it, he said, adding: “The Chinese government has been violating all international rules. Why did our government not call the Chinese ambassador and register protest? The Modi government does not have the guts to do so.”He said that the PM should amend the farm laws and add MSP in that or roll back the laws. There should be a solution to the farmers’ problem,” he said.

He once again lambasted the BJP on love jihad laws. He said: “There’s no definition of love-jihad anywhere in the Constitution. BJP ruled states are making a mockery of the Constitution through love jihad laws… If BJP governed states want to make laws, then they should make laws on ensuring minimum support price for procurement of farmers and for providing employment to people.”
