Over the past 7 years, the Rajasthan government has decided to reopen Rajasthan Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited (RDPL), which had remained closed.
Rajiv Arora, Chairman of the Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation, has expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for this decision. Efforts had been underway for some time to restart RDPL, with several letters written to the central government on this matter and making RDPL employees aware of the intention. With this approval, Rajiv Arora believes that Rajasthan can once again become self-reliant in the pharmaceutical sector. To elevate RDPL to a global level, the state government plans to establish labs, staff, and machinery for drug testing soon. In the coming days, patients will benefit from the supply of medicines in Jaipur and across the state under the free drug scheme. This will ensure easy availability of essential medicines, syrups, capsules, powders, dry syrups, and more in state hospitals.
