Rajasthan is all set to enter a golden era for tourism, with Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari at the helm of the state’s Tourism Department. The upcoming events in the state are set to further elevate its status as a premier tourist destination. In December, the state will host Rising Rajasthan, an event expected to bring significant attention and investment to the region. Adding to the excitement, the IIFA Awards 2025 will be held in Rajasthan in March, marking the 25th anniversary of the prestigious event. The celebration of IIFA’s Silver Jubilee in Rajasthan is expected to not only enhance the state’s global visibility but also provide a major boost to its tourism industry.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari highlighted that Rajasthan has long been recognised for its royal legacy, grandeur, and iconic palaces. Jaipur, known as the Pink City, stands as a symbol of the state’s rich culture and heritage, featuring historic monuments, majestic palaces, exquisite handlooms, vibrant markets, and lush gardens. Beyond its architectural splendour, the city is also renowned for its religious sites and intricately designed temples. Every year, Jaipur attracts thousands of visitors eager to explore its temples, forts, palaces, and immerse themselves in the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region. With high-profile events on the horizon, the Tourism Department is set to leverage Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and growing popularity as a top destination for both international and domestic travelers.
After the Covid-19 pandemic in Rajasthan, a record of tourists came in 2022. In 2022, more than 10 crore 87 lakh tourists came to Rajasthan. In the year 2023, more than 18 crore 7 lakh tourists came to Rajasthan.
This figure was 66% more than the year 2022. All the old records have been broken in the first 10 months of the year 2024. More than 18.20 crore tourists have come till October. There are still two months left at the end of the year. About 24 crore tourists are expected to come by the end of December.
Rajasthan is on a mission to become the number one state in the field of tourism, with a strong focus on creating new opportunities and enhancing the overall tourism experience.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, who oversees the state’s Tourism Department, emphasised that efforts are underway to create an ideal environment for tourists, ensuring they have access to world-class facilities, safety, and cleanliness.
“Our goal is to make Rajasthan the top destination for all types of tourism—whether it’s for weddings, rural tourism, eco-tourism, wildlife, or sightseeing,” said Diya Kumari.
She added that both domestic and international tourists should experience the best of what Rajasthan has to offer. She also stressed the importance of improving infrastructure, particularly roads, in coordination with other departments, to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for visitors.

Tourism in Rajasthan is receiving a significant boost, thanks to the collective efforts of Diya Kumari, Tourism Secretary Ravi Jain, and Commissioner V.P. Singh. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is also backing new initiatives aimed at further developing the sector. The upcoming Rising Rajasthan event in December, along with the IIFA Awards 2025 in March, are expected to attract global attention to the state.
With the implementation of new tourism schemes announced in the state budget, Rajasthan is set to soar in the tourism sector, drawing more visitors and investment from around the world.
