In a significant move towards enhancing the quality of child and women development services, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari has approved the elevation of 6,204 mini Anganwadi centers to main Anganwadi centers under the Women and Child Development Department. This decision, aimed at strengthening integrated child development services, comes as a testament to the government’s commitment to the welfare and empowerment of women and children in Rajasthan. Starting from March 1st, these upgraded centers are set to commence operations.

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari highlighted that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, is dedicated to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focusing on the holistic development of boys and girls, along with empowering women. In alignment with this vision, 6,204 mini Anganwadi centers have been promoted to main Anganwadi centers.

The promotion of these Anganwadi centers will address several operational challenges. With one worker and one helper at the main Anganwadi center, the management of the center becomes more efficient. This streamlined approach ensures better coordination and delivery of services, ultimately benefiting the beneficiaries.

Moreover, upgrading these 6,204 mini Anganwadi centers to main centers will resolve the issue of insufficient infrastructure and resources. Main Anganwadi centers are equipped with better facilities and resources, providing an improved environment for childcare, nutrition, and early childhood education.

Furthermore, this initiative will also lead to the recruitment of 6,204 new helpers for these upgraded centers. The recruitment process for these new helpers will commence shortly, ensuring adequate staffing and support at each Anganwadi center.

The elevation of mini Anganwadi centers to main centers reflects the government’s proactive approach towards strengthening the foundation of early childhood development and women’s empowerment. By providing accessible and quality childcare services, the government aims to ensure the overall well-being and development of children, laying the groundwork for a healthier and more prosperous future. The decision to upgrade these Anganwadi centers is also in line with the government’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality). By investing in early childhood development and women’s empowerment, the government is contributing towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society.

The elevation of 6,204 mini Anganwadi centers to main centers marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to improve child and women development services in Rajasthan. This initiative not only addresses operational challenges but also reinforces the government’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and empowerment of women and children across the state.
