Despite the usual prayers for prosperity and happiness, over 100 people in Rajasthan sustained injuries in various accidents involving fireworks and crackers during the festival.

In Jaipur, several children were among those affected, with half a dozen admitted to the state’s largest hospital, Sawai Man Singh Hospital. Sadly, six children from nearby districts lost their eyesight due to firecracker incidents.
