In the previous Congress government in Rajasthan, the work of oath-taking of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and cabinet expansion was completed within 14 days of the counting of votes, however, in the current BJP government of the state, even after 22 days, the party has not been able to fix the date for cabinet expansion.
It is expected that ministers may be sworn in on December 27. According to sources, both young and experienced leaders will be included in the Bhajanlal cabinet. The significant concern is that due to the ministers not being appointed yet, the work in all the departments is not gaining momentum. However, in the hope of becoming a minister soon, preparations have started for departmental review meetings. Whoever becomes the minister will first hold a review meeting of his department.

In 2018, the Congress government came to power in the Rajasthan assembly elections and completed the entire work of Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and cabinet expansion in 14 days. The counting of votes took place on 11 December 2018. Within 7 days the oath of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister was taken. After this, the 23-member cabinet took the oath the very next day. In this way, the administrative work had gained momentum with the completion of the work of the 25-member cabinet including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister within 14 days of counting of votes.
